Clever ICT chooses smarter DHCP
Clever ICT provides technical services to schools in the UK and Northern Europe. Its customers are increasingly migrating server infrastructure from on-site racks to the cloud – Clever ICT helps them to do this smoothly and effectively.
Once schools had completed migration, the company had found issues with DHCP and DNS performance and reliability.
IT Support Technician Luke Chutkan explains: "When we tried to assign 30 IP addresses to register new Chromebooks, there would be issues with cloud-based DNS servers."
Clever ICT initially turned to ApplianSys whilst looking for a solid DHCP and authoritative-DNS server for a school with approximately 500 clients and 800 devices. The company found alternatives to be over-powered, over-complicated and over-priced. It needed a simpler solution, fit for the school.
Luke continues: "Now, with DNSBOX, there has been a noticeable difference in reliability. We are able to assign as many IP addresses as we need at one time."
The IT service provider has since deployed DNSBOX at a dozen other schools in UK.
