DNSBOX Streamlines DNS and DHCP for Marie Claire's Cloud Shift
Leading global publishing conglomerate, Groupe Marie Claire (GMC), was planning to transition its headquarters' network to a cloud-based infrastructure. However, while the existing Unix-based DNS and DHCP systems had been historically reliable, they could not easily integrate with Active Directory in Azure.
GMC required a robust DNS and DHCP solution that could ensure the same high availability and functionality as the Unix systems, and provide seamless Active Directory integration.
To address this, GMC deployed two DNSBOX210 appliances on-site for robust DNS and DHCP functionality:
- The DNSBOX210s function as dedicated on-site DHCP servers in an active-active failover configuration, ensuring redundancy
- Configured as a slave to the Active Directory DNS master, DNSBOX210 updates DNS records through DDNS
- DNSBOX210 operates both authoritative and recursive DNS services separately on the same hardware, enhancing security by isolating these services into distinct 'sandbox' environments
IT Manager Sylvain Denepoux found the transition smooth and efficient:
"DNSBOX is very easy to set up, and I particularly like how intuitive the DHCP user interface is."
