"DNSBOX ticks all of our boxes!"
A planned migration to Azure cloud-based networking meant that Four Roses Bourbon would lose its existing on-site Windows server DHCP functionality. With a network of 200 devices across two sites, the distillery needed a redundant solution that could seamlessly integrate with its new cloud infrastructure and retain on-premise reliability and control.
IT Manager Aaron Boyles looked at several full DDI solutions, such as BlueCat, but found that they were too complex and costly for Four Roses' requirements. After discovering DNSBOX, he quickly realised that it was the dedicated, redundant solution he had been looking for.
Aaron implemented a high availability pair of DNSBOX210s, licenced for DHCP, authoritative and recursive DNS. By placing one device at each of the sites, Four Roses maintained the redundancy of its network infrastructure and ensured that DNS and DHCP services remain operational even if one of the sites experienced a failure. Aaron is delighted with his new setup:
"We chose your solution over others because of the ability to tailor the product to
our needs, ordering the licences that we need rather than being sold a full blown solution that was overkill
for our requirement. We were able to reduce our costs but still have exactly what we needed. The ability to
scale the solution at a later date was also a big plus, as we will consider IPAM in the future."
Moreover, by choosing DNSBOX, Aaron has the flexibility to add IPAM functionality should it be required in the future.
