Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines Secures Critical Network Infrastructure with DNSBOX
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), responsible for managing airports and air traffic control nationwide, needed a highly secure, reliable DNS and DHCP solution to support real-time communications across multiple locations. Given the growing threat of cyberattacks, particularly targeting aviation networks through DNS vulnerabilities, CAAP required a dedicated appliance-based approach to enhance security, ensure stability, and scale effectively.
CAAP's network upgrade project, led by PLDT, the Philippines' largest telco provider, in collaboration with ApplianSys' distribution partner Netplay, selected DNSBOX for deployment across 15 airport sites.
The DNSBOX300 master unit provides central management, while DNSBOX200 slave units ensure high-performance local DNS and DHCP services at each location.
To meet CAAP's demanding security and performance needs, DNSBOX delivers:
- Built-in protection against DNS attacks such as DNS cache poisoning, reducing the risk of service disruptions and data breaches.
- Support for DNSSEC, ensuring data authenticity and protecting against manipulation.
- A hardened, appliance-based design, removing the security risks and maintenance challenges of traditional server-based setups.
- Scalability, allowing CAAP to expand its infrastructure while maintaining robust network performance.
With DNSBOX, CAAP has strengthened its cybersecurity posture, improved network resilience, and ensured seamless, secure communications across its aviation infrastructure.
